RedactLocal is designed with a "Local-First" philosophy. We believe your private documents should stay private. Our software performs all redaction tasks on your machine, not in the cloud.

1. Data Processing (Redaction)

All PDF processing, scanning, and redaction occur 100% locally on your device.

• We do not upload your documents to any servers.
• We do not transmit metadata or file content to any external services.
• Once data is redacted, it is permanently removed from the file on your local storage.

2. Information We Collect

No information is collected from the desktop application. The Website collects minimal information for user account management:

• Account Information: We store your email address to manage your account for paid app download.
• Payment Status: We store whether you have paid for the Paid version.

We do not collect usage analytics, crash reports that contain document data, or "telemetry" regarding how you use the app.

3. Payments and Billing

Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments.

Dodo Payments handles all invoicing, tax calculations, and refunds. During the checkout process, they may collect your name, billing address, and email. RedactLocal does not see, store, or transmit your credit card or payment method information.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share your email with our payment processor (Dodo Payments) as necessary to facilitate the payment process.

5. Security

Since your files never leave your computer, the security of your documents depends on your local device security. We recommend keeping your operating system and RedactLocal software up to date.
