RedactLocal is a desktop application that allows users to redact content from PDF files entirely on their local device. The Software performs all redaction operations locally and does not upload files, document contents, or redacted data to any server or cloud service.

2. Free and Paid Versions

Free Version:

• The free version provides access to all features.
• Output files generated using the free version include visible watermarks.
• No Sign-Up is required to download the Free Version.

Paid Version:

• The paid version removes all watermarks from output files.
• The paid version is available via direct download from our website.
• Access to the paid version requires a completed purchase.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue free or paid offerings at any time.

3. User Accounts and Information

To provide access to the Software:

• For payment related needs, we store only your email address and purchase status (paid or unpaid).
• No usage data, document data, metadata are collected or transmitted.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

4. Payments and Billing

Payments for RedactLocal are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles payment processing, invoicing, and taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.).

During payment, Dodo Payments may collect your email address, name, and billing address. We do not store or process your payment card or billing details. All billing terms are governed by Dodo Payments’ policies. You can refer them here.

5. Privacy and Data Handling

RedactLocal is designed with privacy as a core principle:

• All PDF redaction occurs locally on your device.
• No documents or file contents are transmitted externally.
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking is performed.

6. No Professional or Legal Guarantee

RedactLocal is provided as a tool only. While designed to permanently redact data, we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or compliance with specific legal requirements. You are solely responsible for verifying the redacted output.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

RedactLocal is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of Liability

RedactLocal and its owners shall not be liable for data loss, incorrect redaction, business interruption, or legal consequences arising from document use.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify RedactLocal from any claims or expenses arising from your use of the Software or your violation of these Terms.

10. Updates and Changes

We may update the Software or these Terms at any time. Continued use of RedactLocal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
